The truck affectionately known as “Brown Bagger” has seen some eye-popping improvements — both inside and out.

Brad brought his 1977 Silverado Big 10 to this year’s C10 Shindig in Independence, MO. He bought the truck from a guy named “Soup” that did the restoration and modifications. Soup named it the Brown Bagger. Brad said “it fits it perfectly” when talking about the name.

Soup took out the whole underneath of the car and replaced it with a GSI chassis. He also bagged it, bored the original 454 to 496, added Holley Sniper Fuel Injection, and he made sure it had all the power options. Another awesome modification was using the original gas door exits in the bed and running the exhaust out to them.

Brad’s favorite part of the truck is its one-off Delmo Speed Wheels painted Daffodil yellow.

“That’s just what popped when I saw it,” Brad said. “And you know it’s got the brown with the Daffodil yellow. Soup there did a fantastic job with that combo. I would have never ever thought to do that. But it really makes her pop.”

The truck did need a little work when Brad got it though.

“I did mainly some interior stuff. It needed an instrument cluster and carpet,” Brad said.

He also replaced the Cassette player that was in it with a new original radio.

Brad has quite a bit of experience with classic GM trucks.

“I’ve got a very bad disease for these darn things,” Brad said. “I’ve had five or six 71-72’s and two 64-65’s.”

When asked if he had any advice for someone wanting to get a truck and start working on it.

“You know, I am not handy building. I’m the guy that pays for the people to do it, unfortunately. But that’s what makes the world go around,” Brad said.

Brad prefers to buy a truck that is more complete. He enjoys replacing worn-out parts and changing a few things to also make them his own.

“Classic Parts, got a lot of stuff from them,” Brad said. “They’ve helped me out a lot and they’re helping us out with a shindig and I really appreciate it.”

Make sure to come to the C10 Shindig next year to check out the Brown Bagger and other awesome trucks. The event will take place on June 17, 2023.
