John M is the proud owner of a ‘37 Chevy truck that he originally got twelve years ago. John’s wife didn’t understand why he liked older vehicles until a chance encounter that happened in a grocery store parking lot.
“Two people walked up before I could get into the grocery store in the parking place, they ask ‘what year is that’ and she goes ’37’,” John said, “Now she kind of likes it.”
Check out some parts for this truck:

My husband and I own a 1954 Chevy 5-window truck and a 56 Chevy Bel Air 2 door, post. Both are beautiful, but by no means perfect. We get so many smiles, waves, thumbs up, people shouting “I like your truck/car!” in traffic. (this is especially so for the truck!) We often get asked if we are ok with them taking pictures of the vehicle… It often feels like we are famous, but we aren’t LOL. It’s just people showing their admiration for the beautiful truck/car from the past. We’ve heard many stories or memories from admirers of the vehicle they (or their father) once had, and how they wish they still had it…
I enjoy owning the classic vehicles. I have passion and respect for them. I enjoy going to cars shows AND participating in car shows.
John M’s wife is experiencing all this too, and she soon will have an even deeper appreciation and passion for their truck. She might even instigate giving the truck a sibling too!! 🙂
I have been fortunate enough that I have owned a couple older trucks. The first one is a 1950 Willys CJ3A. It was old when I bought it. I traded some carpenter work for some body work a rebuilt the engine. The other is a 1978 Chevy short bed 4 wd drive. It wasn’t old when I got it ,use it as a work truck, plow snow, haul firewood, ect. About twice a week people stop me and ask if I want to sell. Most people have a story about either the Jeep or the Chevy. Some of the older guys said they had one and regretted ever giving it up, others say they learned to drive in one ,especially the Jeep. Someday I hope to get a 30s Chevy!
