Gus’s father originally bought his ‘51 Chevy truck and used it to haul water. When his father no longer needed the truck, Gus took it and started to restore it.
“We just started working on it, it took about six years to get it where it’s at,” Gus said. “It still has a lot of work to do, but it’s a lot of fun as well.”
Check out some parts:
That most certainly is aneye popping truck. Your doing a fantastic job on it. My Great uncle had one that was kind of beat. The lady he worked for had a 1952 Cadillac, my choice was the truck. Still love Chevy truck, I have a 70s & a 78 I drive everyday except when there’s salt on the road. Maybe in a year or two I’ll have time to start fixing them up.
What a beauty! TLC is evident. I have a 53 Chevy Pickup and it is my baby!

Wow looks great I am currently working on my own ‘51 3600 truck, just 6 months into repairs but as you probably know as you fix one thing you see two others it’s a marathon not a sprint as they say
I did the same thing with my 59 Apache. It was literally cut out of the woods in Arkansas where it sat for over 50 years. However, my truck belonged to my cousin but had been in the family for an exceptionally long time. Nice job on your ride. It is really a beautiful restoration!
